Deep grooves AFT chrome steel liner
At the Sefine shipyard in Yalova, Turkey, this vessel went into drydock for an AFT stern tube seal renewal. One of our service engineers found out that the AFT liner had some deep grooves, so the distance ring was removed to create a fresh running surface for the stern tube seals. New AFT seals were bonded and no leakage was observed during the leakage test, which means that this vessel can sail for another five years before needing to have the seals replaced.
